The „Assistent“ was one of the first kitchen machines of the Swedish enterprise Electrolux and was launched in 1940. It was relaunched several times in the following years. For many years it was produced successfully under the name "Lux". The kitchen machine was test winner in different publications in 1999, 2001, 2002, 2005 and 2006. Then the "Assistent" was re-engineered technically, and now is on the market again as an independent brand - by the way considerably more favourable in price than its predecessor.

The „Assistent“ and later the „Lux“ have been produced by the same manufacturer in Ankarsrum, Sweden, since 1969, who also produce motors, component parts and accessories for other well-known brands of kitchen machines. The company has acquired the rights in the name "Assistent" and trades under the name Ankarsrum Assistent AB.
